Overall, the cabin boasts premium equipment and high-quality materials, but the only thing that some people wouldn’t like is the switchgear. It looks cheap and ugly and although some people would disregard the looks of it, we believe that the 2017 Maserati Quattroporte deserves better, especially since the people complained about it in the past. The first engine that you can find under the hood of the 2017 Maserati Quattroporte S is a 3.0-liter V6 that produces 404 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. The top speed of this vehicle is 177.7 mph, while it can go from 0 to 62 mph in 5.1 seconds. On the other hand, we have a range-topping model which is equipped with a 3.8-liter V8 unit. This powerplant is powerful, and it delivers 523 hp and 479 lb-ft with an overboost function that when activated unleashes 524 lb-ft of torque. The top speed of the highest trim is 192.6 mph whereas it reaches 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds.
Another powerplant in the lineup is the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 diesel that pumps out 271 horses and 443 pound-feet of torque. This model takes 6.4 seconds to complete 0-62 mph run, and the top speed is limited to 156.5 mph. All of these engines are mated to the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
Maserati Quattroporte has had issues with road noise, so in order to fix this problem, the Italian carmaker decided to include sound-deadening carpet and double-laminated acoustic glass for the windscreen and rear window. However, Maserati could have done something different to combat this sound issue, though. Yes, they managed to reduce noise in the cabin, but the roar of the V8 is also muffled and stifled, and it sounds as if it is coming from some other vehicle.

The starting price of the 2017 Maserati Quattroporte is $103,400 for the S trim. The upper S Q4 variant costs $109,500 whereas for the range-topping GTS GranSport and GranLusso you would have to pay $145,500. There is no doubt that Maserati has built a masterpiece with a great interior and powerful powertrain options. However, there are some downsides such as old-fashioned switchgear and the sound of the engine inside the luxurious cabin. Still, the Quattroporte is expected to be one of Maserati’s best-selling vehicles.
