After it was revealed in Beijing, 2017 Lexus IS appeared at the Miami Auto Show.
The car has been slightly improved, but there are no dramatic changes. As for the exterior, the spindle grille, which is the brand’s trademark, is modified. A new three-dimensional grille with cobweb pattern is specially designed in jet black metallic color for the F Sport version of a car. This vehicle would be incomplete without functional brake-cooling ducts which are also added.
Furthermore, the hood is marginally larger, and its center is somewhat raised. New, standard LED headlamps are also a refined upgraded. The taillights are integrated into the rear bumper which has been transformed. Exhaust outlets have a modern rectangular shape made out of chrome.
This luxury car contains some of the latest technological feats such as Safety System + which is standard for Lexus. Pre-collision system, blind-spot monitoring, and an alert when you unintentionally switch lanes are all included in this system. There are, of course, many more features and safety options.
Interior has also been enhanced. Cup holders are now more stylish, and the HVAC control panel is more sophisticated. Moreover, new switchgear has seen some tiny changes. The Recent multimedia screen is now 10.3-inches, and it will satisfy customers because they will be able to control it with the state-of-the-art Remote Touch Interface, available with a palm rest made out of leather and new enter buttons.
In addition to all this, Mark Levinson produced a sound system which contains 15 speakers, specially developed for this car.
The engine will, however, be the same as before. The base car comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 unit, but the 3.5-liter engine with six cylinders produces up to 306 horsepower. One will be able to choose between four- or rear-wheel-drive.
The 2017 Lexus IS should be on the market this fall. Even the price hasn’t been announced we think that it will not dramatically change compared to that of the previous version. As a result, we will see starting price of up to $38,000.
