The 2017 GMC Sierra HD All Terrain X will be available with a 6.0-liter gas-powered V8 or the next generation Duramax 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel which was presented by GM in September.
The vehicle looks like Sierra 1500 and Canyon and it is available in black color as well as the Summit White. Furthermore, the car comes with 18-inch wheels with Goodyear Duratrac tires, a spray-on bedliner and side steps. If you decide to buy this vehicle you will also get a front skid plate, LED off-road lamps, and bed-mounted sport bar. Hill Descent Control, underbody shield, and twin-tube Rancho shocks are a part of the Z71 package that is also included in the vehicle.
The 6.0-liter V8 produces 360 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque whereas the 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel produces 445 hp and astonishing 910 lb-ft of torque. According to the GM, new engine doesn’t make too much noise and it is better than the last-generation Duramax, rated at 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque.
In addition, the new unit is equipped with stronger components and an enhanced air intake system. Advanced electronically control turbo provides 28 psi of boost whereas the capacity of the oil cooler has been increased.
Just for comparison, Ford’s 6.7-liter Power Strokes V8 produces 440 hp and the most, 925 lb-ft of torque. Duramax managed to take the second place, putting Ram’s 6.7-liter Cummins V8 turbodiesel on the third spot. This engine produces 385 hp and 900 lb-ft of torque.
