One of the most anticipated trucks, the 2017 Ford Raptor is expected to be launched this fall but till now we didn’t have any information’s about power figures. One of the Raptor fans managed to get the insight into online documents where the numbers are exposed.
Ever since we have received info that new Raptor will be offered we were trying to find more details about powertrain but Ford kept everything under the cover. Now, finally, we know that the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine will pump out 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, that is at least what rumors are saying.
We are fully aware that forums are not most reliable source of news, but we already had few encounters with this source, and it tends to be reliable. Also, figures that are posted are believable since we know that standard 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost is capable of producing 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, so this jump is quite possible. Furthermore, we saw what this beast can do in 2018 Ford GT where it should pump out more than 600 hp and about 500 pound-feet of torque.
It is interesting to note that 2017 Ford Raptor engine will have more torque than the one that will be offered in Ford GT. When compared to older 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 this will be 39 hp and 76 lb-ft of torque increase. More power in combination with probably lower weight means better performances, something we really like to hear.
Among other leaked details we could read that it will bring same 8,000 pounds tow rating like the previous version. The price was another piece of information that we didn’t have any clue about. According to the leaked document, it should spin around $49,520 making it a great option in the segment.

More news about 2017 Ford Raptor, including power, price, and other specs will be available as its release date approaches. To be honest, we didn’t expect to get more 🙂 So stay tuned as all new details will be offered here.
