The 2017 Ford Fiesta will be presented on November 29, 2016. Most of the upgrades are expected to be delivered in the interior, but the new spy shots show us that the car is camouflaged, so some minor exterior changes will also occur.
The 2017 Ford Fiesta is coming to at an event called “Go Further” to show up in front of the public. This event will take place in Cologne, Germany, and the Ford CEO Mark Fields and Ford of Europe president Jim Farley will have the honor to introduce the new supermini. In addition, the Ford heads will also talk about “Ford Smart Mobility fuel-saving technology and commercial vehicle.”
Jim Farley stated: ”The new Fiesta will be our best expression of Ford – lovable, fun, sporty to drive and with an unmatched personality true to the spirit of the iconic small car that has delighted generations of customers for the past 40 years.”
Exterior of new Ford Fiesta 2017
Ford Fiesta may be small, but in Britain, it is on top of the list when it comes to sales. The American automaker also plans to produce a more luxurious version, so it is possible that we will see some of the upscale features and options on this model.
The 2017 Ford Fiesta will definitely have a lower and flatter nose. The headlights flank the front grille, and they are slimmer now and swept-back. Moving to the rear end and the first thing we see are the new taillights that are featured instead of those vertically positioned units of the previous generation. The new design brings wider horizontal lamps and overall more impressive look. This gives us the illusion that the car is broader than the current Fiesta.
2017 Ford Fiesta Release Date
The new Ford Fiesta will hit the market in the first half of the next year. Once it goes on sale, the buyers will have to pay more than for the current version of this car, but they will also get more. For instance, the quality of the vehicle will improve, whereas some cutting-edge features will be added. Thus, if you want a supermini, you will have to set aside a little bit more money than in any other case, because the 2017 Ford Fiesta will bring class to the market. Moreover, it will create space for Ford Ka+.
Platform
The new model is based on the same Global B platform, as the current one, so there are no surprises about the size of the vehicle. However, as it appears in the photos, the wider track is sported, but we may have a difference in few millimeters, which is not important. What is essential, though, is that the Blue Oval carmaker will manage to save a lot of money, since they don’t have to develop a new chassis. They will use that cash to enhance interior and features and also to offer this model at slightly lower price than it would have if they needed to develop it ground up.
New Ford Fiesta Interior
First things first, the infotainment will go through a serious overhaul. A much larger touchscreen will replace the small one found on the ongoing model. The SYNC 3 software for music is also expected, whereas the satellite navigation and smartphone integration will be included, as well. Secondly, the soft-touch materials will come to the cabin, and you will immediately notice improvements in this regard. Last but not least, many safety features such as traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring and lane departure warning will find its way to the 2017 Ford Fiesta.
Under the Hood
Nothing is certain, but it is possible that a turbocharged three-cylinder engine will be included. It would come instead of the four-cylinder unit, which is located in the Ka+ model. This could be the significant change because it would separate the Fiesta from the Ka+. The 1.0-liter turbo seems like a great choice for this subcompact.
2017 Ford Fiesta Price
Moving the 2017 Ford Fiesta upmarket is crucial for the company, but this move will reflect the prices. It is expected that the base trims such as Studio and Style are dropped. This means that the amount of money needed for the base trim would be about £13,000. As we already mentioned, t his change will allow more space in the market for the Ka+ model. The Ka+ has fewer features than the Fiesta and the estimated price for the base model would be about £8,000.
What are Ford’s Plans for Future?
It is not excluded that the new range-topping trim for the Fiesta is presented sometime in the future. The new model could carry Vignale badge. As the Roelant de Waard, the European sales and marketing chief said: “Never say never on this. We sell expensive Fiestas and EcoSports; it may be true over time that the same thing happens and we realize there is more that we can offer. Size is not equal to luxury anymore.”
