The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is a long-anticipated car, and now that it is hitting the streets, the fans are starting to ask some questions. Most of these are related to performance so here is a race for you between the Camaro ZL1 and Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Sounds interesting? Let’s see which car is faster.
We can see multiple runs, three to be more precise, and both cars in the video are stock versions with street tires. We are not going to say which of the cars is faster, so you need to watch it. Both vehicles are extraordinary and the sounds the engines produce are awe-inspiring.
Engine
The Dodge Challenger Hellcat is equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine that produces 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. This engine is combined with a six-speed manual or the optional that the model in the video uses, an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
On the other hand, we have a new 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 that sports a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 unit. However, it is less powerful as it delivers 650 horses and 650 lb-ft of torque. Just like it is the case with the Hellcat, the ZL1 also offers two transmission choices – a 10-speed automatic and a six-speed manual which was used in this car that was rcing.
The only problem here is that Hellcat comes with automatic which is faster in shifts compared to manual. Do you think that this is enough for Challenger to win this race or the lighter Camaro ZL1 will be faster even it has less power?
