The starting price for the new electric vehicle, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt will be $37,495. This is pretty much the same price as GM has promised when they have shown the concept at the beginning of 2015. So, there are no surprises there. Moreover, considering that there is the maximum federal tax credit of $7,500, the car itself is five dollar shy of $30,000. When the car hits the market near the end of this year, there will be a lot of advertisements and commercials indicating that the new Chevy costs exactly $29,995.
So far, GM hasn’t revealed all of the trims for this car, but it is know that there will be at least two trims – the base LT model and a Premier. The LT will have a color touch screen which will be 10.2 inches as well as a camera for a rear view. Moreover, the steering wheel paddles will be the Regen on Demand. As for the Premier trim, it will be equipped with the heaters for the both front and back seats made out of leather. Furthermore, it will have a surround camera and a rear-view mirror camera. The Chevy will have a great range of 238 miles per charge.
At the end of August, the sales of electric vehicles reached the number of 103,045 for GM. It will take time for GM to reach a milestone of 200,000 vehicles sold, even with Chevy Spark and Cadillac ELR. By that time the tax credit for the EVs made by GM will be on the decline, so it is possible that the price of the Bolt drops.
