Adding modern features and tech to a classic car is certainly very appealing and nice looking, but it is hard to get it right. This concept is called “Restomod”, and it is becoming very popular. There is one thing that makes it very hard, and it is its proper execution which is crucial for success.

If you get the “Restomod” concept wrong, you can cause more damage than good to your vehicle. The end result might as well be as trying to fit LED style light on an antique bedside lamp, horrible and not suited in any way you look at it. But when you do it right like the Harris Custom Offroad in West Plains, Missouri did with this 1972 Bronco you get something that is as good as it will ever get. This restored, the mouth watering 4×4 gem is going to be auctioned at Mecum Auctions’ Dallas that is taking place from 2nd to 5th of November this year.

There has been a lot of things done to this iconic vehicle but among all of them are a 302 ci V8 bored .030 over and equipped with an RV cam for additional torque and better manners, an NV3550 five-speed manual transmission, twin stick transfer case, and four-wheel power disc brakes. A list of upgrades that are featured here stretches even more and include a six point roll cage, three-point seat belts, a TBP 2.5-inch suspension lift, 23-gallon custom fuel tank, Bluetooth radio, ProCar front leather bucket seats, a Rhino-lined floorpan, and custom front bumper with an integrated winch.

The list goes on, but those are some of the key features just to give you a general idea of what has been done to it. The auction price is estimated at anywhere from $40,000 to $60,000, and it is anything but cheap. If we take into account the overall restoration process and the end result that offers cleanliness it is making this deal look like a bargain. You really don’t have to take my word for it, check out the photos and see for yourself.
