The classic Pontiac GTO Judge comes from the beginning of the 1970s, which was a time when manufacturers were creative and had a great sense of humor. When we say a great sense of humor, we mean that they underrated their horsepower ratings and the reason for that was insurance and the NHRA classifications.
The 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge was a really powerful vehicle equipped with a massive 6.5-liter V8 powerplant that was “officially” producing 366 hp which without a doubt was impressive. Unofficially, this muscle car was even more powerful, and the engine’s output was close to at that time stunning 400 horses.
The Pontiac GTO that you can see here is completely original, but it went through a long restoration process. Its proud owner is Wade Kawasaki who bought this vehicle from a friend in Hawaii and, God, he was lucky. He was lucky because of the interior was in such a good condition that he only had to clean it up a bit and add new carpets to make it look as if it just rolled off the factory lines.
Wade Kawasaki also owns Coker Tire, which is the world leading supplier of collector vehicle tires. So, it comes to no surprise that the restored Pontiac GTO is equipped with a modern radial tire that looks like the original Firestone Wide Oval. These new tires improve the traction of the vehicle, but what is more important is that the appearance of the car remains original.
