We’re sure you’ll agree that there’s no better appetizer than pigs in blankets, right? Plus, these are so easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

2 sheet(s) frozen pastry dough

12 all-beef hot dogs

1 large Egg

1/4 tsp. salt

poppy seeds

Preparation:

  1. Heat the oven to 425°F. Line one baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll 1 puff pastry dough sheet into a 12- by 14-inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface. First, cut rectangle in half lengthwise, then cut each half into 3 equal pieces to get a total of 6 pastry pieces.
  3. Make sure hot dogs are dry (you can pat them with paper towels). Use a fork to pierce each one several times.
  4. Whisk egg and salt together to get an egg wash.
  5. Roll one hot dog at a time in 1 puff pastry piece, and then put some egg wash on it.
  6. Once wrapped in pastry, put the hot dogs on the baking sheet and brush them with the remaining egg wash, sprinkling poppy seeds on top.
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes (until golden brown). When done, slice each pastry-wrapped hot dog into 5 pieces.
