Spectacular Spider-Man aired for two seasons starting from 2008. The Sony Pictures Television animated series was popular because it featured so many characters and elements from Spider-Man’s world, and it was considered to be the best Spider-Man animated series.
At the time, Sony signed a deal with Marvel, giving them Spider-Man’s TV rights, but neither of them had the full rights necessary for the continuation of the show. In the third season, Carnage, Scorpion, Hydro-Man, Liz Osborn and Hobgoblin were supposed to be introduced.
