Spider-Man’s Clone Saga during the 1990s was one of the most notorious storylines and focused on the reappearance of Ben Reilly, a Peter Parker clone which was designed by Jackal way back in the 1970s. Reilly became the heroic Scarlet Spider, but he died in 1996’s Peter Parker, Spider-Man #75.
Editor Tom DeFalco had big plans, and Reilly would have survived a shorter version of the crossover, in the end, he would have still operated as the Scarlet Spider.
