15 highly anticipated future cars!

The New Year is just around the corner, and somehow everybody is in the festive spirit, but over here at petrol-heads station, we are all about future and the cars that are expected to come. Why is it so? Well, these next few years, as you will read from our posts, are promising a lot for the automobile industry and that vast amount of new vehicles are coming to every sector of the automotive world. That is why we are using this opportunity to show you what we think are the!

1. 2017 Acura NSX Type R

If you know about Acura NSX than you must know the horsepower it has. Just in case you do not remember it is offering staggering 573 HP that are enough to glue you to the driver seat as soon as you hit the pedal. Since future is all about offering more, according to some speculations the 2018 Acura NSX Type R might trump that easily with its upgraded and more powerful 3.5 L biturbo hybrid V6 powertrain and an all-new set of aerodynamic bits and pieces.

2. 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Screaming Chicken

If we ignore the Screaming Chicken nameplate for a moment, which is not that easy, what we have pictured here is the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 hiding under the black and gold colors. This is a more tuned and track focused vehicle that you probably saw testing, and crashing, unfortunately, at the Nurburgring track. It is predicted to debut in 2017 as a 2018 model, possibly with Pontiac throwback.

3. 2018 Jeep Wrangler

As far as Jeep is concerned, you should not expect many changes on the exterior of the vehicle. The only thing that got slightly tweaked is the grille and a few minor cosmetic upgrades that are added, but apart from that this iconic boxy shaped ride will remain pretty much intact. Design underneath the skin is another story, though, and it is expected that this compact SUV will include heavy use of aluminum in its construction.

4. 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class

You probably caught the recent spy shots of the German beauty, and if those pictures are to be believed, it seems that company is ready to upgrade its A-Class subcompact once again. The updated platform will be absent once again, with a note that this kind of change will come in a few years. But you don’t need to worry because it will host a more elegant design which includes a sleek set of LED headlights and a more defined front fascia.

5. 2018 Toyota Supra

This is, arguably, the most anticipated vehicle that will no doubt prove well worth the wait. It was announced by the reveal of the more than incredible FT-1 concept back in 2014. We could also see it in the vast number of spy shots and videos that show it is only a matter of time before Supra hits the streets once again.

6. 2018 VW Polo SUV

With this type of vehicle, German car maker is proving that it is crossing over. This was announced with the reveal of the three-row Atlas, that is significant to the manufacturer but yet a small piece of the overall puzzle. That puzzle mostly consists of crossovers and SUVs with Polo-based “B-SUV” being just a start. It will arrive on the markets late next year and when it comes it will ride on the MQB platform, the same one that carries the likes of VW Golf, Audi A3, and others.

7. 2019 Audi A6 Avant

Audi A6 haven’t changed a lot since it was introduced in 2010. It was always a few nips and tucks here and there, as Audi has grown accustomed to doing with its cars, but that will apparently all change in 2018 when an all-new version will be hitting the market. It is supposed to share a lot of key features with the Prologue concept we had a chance to see back in 2014. The all new stylish Avant version is planned for early 2019.

8. 2019 BMW i5

The BMW’s i range is becoming somewhat been-there-done-that, and it feels almost natural that they add some versatility to the lineup with something that will sit nicely between the i3 and i8. The i5 is supposed to be larger than the i3 hatchback and offer up to or even over of 200 miles (321 kilometers) of range. Unlike the other i vehicles, the i5 is supposed to be the “first car in the household,” at least according to Henrik Wenders, Head of Product for the i division.

9. 2019 Tesla Pickup

In the second part of the Musk’s master plan the Tesla Pickup vehicle holds a special place and is named to be “new kind of pickup truck,” although nobody actually knows what that statement is supposed to mean, but the overall idea of instant torque and an attractive and innovative design sounds compelling. As of now, thanks to Tesla’s deadline problem, nobody actually has any idea when to expect it, but the predictions are sometime late 2019.

10. 2019 Tesla Roadster

The upcoming Tesla Roadster is supposed to be “somewhat larger and faster,” at least according to statement that Nordic Countries Manager Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen gave back in May. It is going to be based on the Model 3 according to some reports from that period, and immediately one question raised up, and it is regarding the retention of the sporty tendencies as its predecessor, now that it’s getting a new platform, or is it going to act more like a fancy cruiser?

11. 2020 Ford Bronco

The much awaited and rumored Ford Bronco, at least according to the last available information, is getting built and the prep stage for that has already commenced. Bronco and the all-new Ranger are slated to be built together at Ford’s Wayne, Michigan, facility and are predicted to go on sale sometime late in 2019 for the 2024 model year.

12. 2024 Alfa Romeo 6C / Spider

Thanks to the arrival of the new Giulia and Stelvio it is pretty obvious what faith will befall the 4C. Since it no longer has its place, it will most likely be replaced with something more upscale, and the proposed replacement is the 6C that will have more powerful engine and an even more stunning design.

13. 2024 Apple Car

If you recall the news a while back, you are probably familiar that Apple sacked a whole bunch of people that were working on the “Project Titan”, but what you probably do not know is that the company has not given up on the project totally. In an open letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Apple is trying to get the “same opportunity” as other brands to test the autonomous technology on public roads. If this doesn’t say they are still in, nothing does.

14. 2024 Opel GT

Thanks to the new Insignia we can see that Opel is making all the right moves towards the GT sports car, at least when it comes to design guise. That new and mature look is supposed to carry over into a production version of the GT sports car which will most likely become a reality in next couple of years, given that the company can make a business case for it, one that can hold its own.

15. 2024 Maserati GranTurismo

A long time has passed since the original Maserati GranTurismo that most of you have forgotten about was introduced. But after almost ten years on the market and without practically any change to it, it is now ripe for an overall makeover. The rendering that we came across shows the Maserati in its new glory that isn’t groundbreaking by the way, but it shows all of the iconic lines of the sports coupe intact, while on the other hand it’s bringing it into the modern era. The only bad thing is that we won’t see it until at least 2024.
