If you are looking for a really cheap electric vehicle, the i-MiEV is the right choice, but you’d want to avoid this model. It is underdeveloped, and its riding is stiff, slow and insecure, while its design is also far from attractive. If you are using a 240-volt, Level 2 charger, it takes 6 to 7 hours to charge the car fully, but a standard 110-volt charger will extend that time to 21 hours. According to the EPA, it is rated at 62 miles, which is not good enough and the Nissan Leaf is a far better choice, for instance.
