Mike Medavoy who was at the helm of Orion Pictures wanted a big star for the role of T-800. Their initial idea was O.J. Simpson. However, years later, Cameron commented that he was strongly against that concept and that his producer/co-writer Gale Anne Hurd was of same thinking. The reason was that he though O.J.Simpson was too sweet and amiable for the role of evil Terminator. “This was when everybody loved him, and ironically that was part of the problem,” Cameron said. “He was this likable, goofy, kind of innocent guy.”
