Due to injury, Lee was out of Penn State’s 2009 Rose Bowl. When he tore his ACL for the second time, he was put aside as the member of the Cowboys, when the team had 12-4 season and went for a playoff run in 2014.
Lee knows what it is like to be hurt and he is constantly thankful for being healthy. “Tearing an ACL can be devastating,” Lee said. “The darkness that accompanies it is an uncommon challenge for anyone who experiences it. But darkness can only hold you down as long as you let it. … I chose to keep the fight alive. It doesn’t matter if the world says we [Cowboys defense] have no name. Our identity isn’t in our name anyway. The star of the defense is the defense.”
