One of the largest problems of the GTA V was the backtracking on the so-called maturation period. In GTA IV, we had Niko Bellic’s past that haunted him, whereas his chance of living the American Dream collapsed. This was slightly more serious tone than the one of the San Andreas for instance and to change things in the GTA V, Rockstar focused on appeasing the fans and bringing back the old mentality. What we got is the lack of identity, which needs to be reintroduced in GTA VI.
