1Prescott’s late mother inspired Cowboys entire year
According to the SportsDay’s Kate Hairopoulos: “Prescott’s late mother left Dak and his two older brothers a message via her 2013 memorial service: Fight, finish, faith. Peggy Prescott attributed one word to each son. Prescott has “Fight,” for his brother Tad, and “Finish,” for his brother Jace, tattooed above his shoulder blades. But he’s not sure if he’ll ever get “Faith,” his mom’s word for him, inked as long as his career continues. He enjoys the routine of writing it out, game after game.” But how did Peggy actually inspired the team’s whole year. Well, thanks to the mini-documentary leading into the postseason, Prescott stated that his mother words are more than just the wristband. He said that “With every struggle, within my life or on the field, I get back up because it’s a step closer to what she wanted me to be. The pain I’ve endured crawled in my heart and molded me into a competitor that won’t back down from any fight. From all the times she sat in the stands to all the times I say I wanted to play for the Dallas Cowboys … this moment, right here, is what she dreamt for me.” He also said that the endzone is the place for him and the place where his mother would want him to be. He stated “You see the touchdowns? I see an opportunity to honor my mom. Fight, finish, faith.”
